The upcoming collaboration between “Fortnite” and DC Comics was recently confirmed by Epic Games. Now, a teaser of what is to come on the battle royale featuring the “Hot Bat Summer” collection has been unveiled
The reveal caught attention almost immediately, with the new swimsuit designs standing out as some of the more revealing outfits Epic has added to “Fortnite” in recent memory

This new crossover centers on bringing summer-themed DC skins for Batman, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy into the game. The reveal also confirmed a new Mythical Batman Sprite, along with additional cosmetics tied to the crossover
The Hot Bat Summer event is set to launch alongside the v41.20 update, arriving as part of Chapter 7 Season 3. Beyond the four new skins, the update brings Ace the Bat-Hound as a Sidekick cosmetic and a new dune buggy-inspired Batmobile, giving the vehicle a more off-road summer look instead of its usual armored design
This marks yet another DC crossover for “Fortnite,” following recent additions like Supergirl and Lobo earlier in the season
When talks of a crossover between “Fortnite” and DC were happening again, it was speculated to be centered on another Batman-focused summer collection, but nowhere near what Epic Games unveiled
Fans Surprised with Revealing Costumes
According to Polygon’s report, the new swimsuit designs quickly became the main talking point following the reveal, with many players noting just how far Epic pushed the character redesigns compared to past collaborations
Batman appears shirtless while still wearing his cowl, while Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and Catwoman are dressed in beach-ready outfits that lean further into a more revealing style than earlier Batman-related skins in “Fortnite.”
Reactions online have ranged from excitement to concern, echoing similar responses Epic received earlier this year over another notably revealing skin added to the Battle Pass
At the time, some players argued Epic was leaning too far into fan service to drive cosmetic sales, while others pointed out inconsistencies in how much skin previous crossover characters were allowed to show compared to newer additions
Many pointed out that previous collections like the “Mortal Kombat” and “Street Fighter” crossovers were not as revealing as this new one with DC, considering how these games already showed skins on their original artworks and wardrobes
‘Fortnite’ Is Getting Bolder With Skins
The “Hot Bat Summer” collection follows a broader trend across live service games, where superhero-themed swimsuit skins have become a reliable way to drive engagement and cosmetic sales during the summer months
Similar approaches have proven successful in other titles, with “<a href="https://comicvibe.com/michael-waldron-developing-nova-film-for-marvel/” title=”Michael Waldron developing 'Nova' film for Marvel”>Marvel Rivals” seeing strong reception to its own swimsuit-themed skin lineup earlier this year
With “Fortnite” continuing to lean into bigger, more eye-catching crossovers, the “Hot Bat Summer” collection appears to be part of a larger strategy to keep the Item Shop stocked with attention-grabbing content throughout Chapter 7 Season 3
