Do you like boxes that allow you to play video games? Well, if so, you might want to tune in The PlayStation 5 tech demo will air later today, September 10, and you can find all the details on how to do it here.
Sony announced yesterday that the presentation will be hosted by Mark Cerny, who is often cited as the architect of the PS5 and its predecessor, the PS4. At the time it wasn’t entirely confirmed that this whole thing was a proper launch for the long-rumored PS5 Pro, but that’s certainly what people concluded.
You can watch today’s PlayStation 5 tech demo above, which airs on 4pm BST, 5pm CEST, 11am ET and 8am PT September 10th.
What exactly will you do? Sony confirmed that the demo will last nine minutes and said it will “focus on innovation in PS5 and gaming technology.” If it follows the discussion in last week’s blog post about PlayStation’s 30th anniversary plans and what people have inferred from the artwork teasing what appears to be the console’s design, then the PS5 Pro will launch within this timeframe.
Some on social media have also claimed that an unpublished YouTube video spotted on Sony’s official channel after the demo was announced was at one point called “PS5 Pro,” with the title later changed to “PlayStation 5 Tech Demo – September 10 day”.
You might be wondering if we’ll get details like the console’s price, assuming it’s indeed revealed here as everyone expects, but it’s also important to consider what kind of soundtrack it might reveal. Or at least that’s what I’m most interested in, because the 30th Anniversary trailer is accompanied by a playlist that includes Livin’ La Vida Loca, Soulja Boy’s Crank That, and various others you probably won’t play on PlayStation songs.
The announcement from the other day did include a note that “this broadcast may contain copyrighted content over which PlayStation has no control (such as licensed music),” so we’re hoping Cerny boogies will perform at the Beastie Boys’ Intergactic.
