Family Place Library is a national early literacy initiative. The space is designed to encourage hands-on playtime, reading time and opportunities for families to meet other families.

MCMLS has also added Family Place Libraries at the George and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Library in The Woodlands and the R.F. Meador Library in Willis, as previously reported. The new space was funded through a grant from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.

Going forward

With the addition of the Family Place Library, workshops featuring early literacy specialists will also be offered.
