Fortnite’s Chapter 7 mini-season “Treasure Hunters” is live, and it only runs until December 1. The map is completely new, the One Piece crossover brings Devil Fruits and signature weapons, and there are 33 new sprites to dig up. Whether you’re planning to spend V-Bucks on the One Piece shop skins or just want a quick FN Top Up before diving in, this guide covers what to grab and what to avoid.
1. First, Understand: This Is Not a Normal Season
|
Brand-new island, 80 players (down from the usual 100) |
|
|
Replaced by the One Piece Going Merry |
Key reminder: this is a mini-season. The battle pass has only 6 skins, and only Nico Robin and Ace are One Piece characters. Luffy, Nami, Usopp, Zoro, Sanji, Chopper, and Buggy are all sold separately in the shop.
2. Devil Fruits: The Strongest Items This Season, With One Fatal Weakness
Two Devil Fruits spawn randomly on the map. When one appears, the whole lobby gets an announcement, and its location is marked on the map and HUD. First come, first served — and once you pick one up, every player on the island knows you have it.
|
Ranged rubber punches, stomp, charged slingshot dash |
Takes continuous damage in water (lore-accurate) |
||
|
Rapid fire gun (no cooldown) + Fire Fist AoE burst (10s cooldown) |
Don’t waste Fire Fist (ADS/secondary fire). Use the fire gun for sustained damage during the 10-second cooldown — don’t just stand there waiting.
Stay away from water once you have a fruit. The damage is continuous, and plenty of players die crossing a river while running from the storm.
The Gum-Gum Fruit has insane mobility — great for engaging and disengaging quickly, but its damage is less direct than the Flame-Flame Fruit.
3. One Piece Weapons: Which Ones Are Worth Fighting For
Usopp’s Slingshot
One of the strongest mid-to-long-range weapons this season. It fires projectiles, so you need to lead your shots, but the damage is enormous.
How to get it: chests (~10.5% drop rate) > floor loot (only 1.4%). Uses heavy ammo, has a 1-round magazine, but reloads extremely fast (0.35s).
Tip: if you see someone aiming a slingshot at you, don’t stand still. A charged shot to the head ends you instantly.
Zoro’s Three Sword Style
A melee weapon with all three swords in hand. Left click for a three-hit combo, right click to block bullets and dash-slash (~100 damage). With stamina, you can jump-dash.
Tip: the dash-slash is the core — block then dash is the standard combo. But note: the dash deals fall damage on landing, so don’t spam it at low health.
Other Notables
Bundlebuss Repeater Rifle: new assault rifle, 8.5 fire rate, solid mid-range suppression.
Gilded Dragoon Shotgun: single-shot shotgun, reloads after every shot, but hits extremely hard.
Nami’s Tangerine: instantly restores 25 shield, faster than minis, plus a movement bonus in water. Grab it on sight.
Explosive Cannonball: can be thrown or loaded into a cannon.
4. A$AP Rocky Boss: Should You Fight Him?
A$AP Rocky appears as a boss in the $$ Rocky warship area. Defeating him drops his Shockwave Rocket and a sprite.
Shockwave Rocket: launches you into the air, then rains rockets downward. Only usable in non-competitive modes.
Tip: in normal battle royale, the boss area is a hot drop — you’ll be fighting the moment you land. Beginners should steer clear until you’ve got a handle on weapons and sprites.
5. Sprite System: 33 New Sprites
This season adds 33 sprites (11 base types plus their Fortune and Cursed variants). You don’t need to memorize them all — just these key ones:
|
Faster reloads, with a chance not to consume ammo on reload |
Very high, especially with single-shot shotguns |
|
|
Reveals nearby sprites, grants more items when opening buried chests |
High — essential for sprite hunting |
|
|
Regenerates health while in water |
Medium — pairs with water terrain |
|
|
Marks kill locations on the map, larger radius at higher levels |
Medium — information advantage |
|
|
Gives a random item each level-up, bursts mythic loot at max level |
Fortune variants: extra effect is revealing nearby chests — a godsend for finding gear and sprite chests.
Cursed variants: increase rare sprite spawn chances, but water damages you — stack this with a Devil Fruit and going into water is basically suicide.
How to find sprites: tear down wanted posters on the map. They turn into sprite treasure maps that lead you to buried sprite chests.
6. Opening Route Recommendations
Land and look for chests, not fights. Slingshots, repeater rifles, and sprites all come from chests.
Tear down every wanted poster you see. This is the main path to sprites and extra loot.
When you hear a Devil Fruit announcement, judge the distance before committing. If it’s far, don’t sprint for it — you’ll get intercepted on the way.
Once you have a fruit, stay away from water immediately. The damage is continuous, and many players die crossing rivers while running from the storm.
Prioritize Re-Pete or Wayfinder. Reload speed and chest-finding give the most direct value.
Don’t fight A$AP Rocky in the first circle. Not unless you already have a solid weapon and enough shield.
One-line summary: Devil Fruits are strong but afraid of water, the slingshot’s 198 headshot is worth fighting for, prioritize Re-Pete and Wayfinder, tearing posters and digging chests is the core loop, and finish before December 1. And if you’d rather skip the grind for V-Bucks to grab the One Piece shop skins, MMOEXP is a reliable place to buy FN Top Up safely and quickly, so you can focus on the new map instead of farming.
