Kyle MacLachlan couldn’t help but wonder…what Trey MacDougal is doing today.
After the Sex and the Cityalum did not reprise his character as Charlotte York’s ex-husband in the sequel series And Just Like That, he shared whether or not he’d say alrighty to stepping into Trey’s shoes if a potential future installment were to happen once more.
“Oh, would I ever! Absolutely,” MacLachlan exclusively told E! News at Heidi Klum‘s 25th Annual Halloween Party at Cathédrale in New York City Oct. 31. “Come on, Trey has to come back.”
“He’s got unfinished business,” he continued. “Of course, that would be fun.”
MacLachlan—who was joined by his son Callum, 18, at the star-studded spooky soiree—playfully noted that he was ready to “start some vicious rumors” of Trey’s return in a new spinoff series.
“It’s going to happen, very, very soon,” he joked at the event, which was presented by Apothic and Butterfinger. “I know this is going to get picked up and going to be the logline and that’s how it’s going to work.”

And while it’s been nearly 25 years since the 67-year-old last appeared as Trey—the first husband of Kristin Davis’ Charlotte—in season four in 2002, he still remembers the time fondly.
“There are very many memories,” MacLachlan, who dressed as an “evil” Cliff Vandercave from The Flintstones at Klum’s Halloween party, shared. “I think working with Kristin Davis is one of my most favorite. We had a really wonderful run. I love her dearly, and she’s so wonderful. And so anytime working with her was special.”
In fact, the Twin Peaks alum still keeps up with Davis, as well as other former members of the SATC cast and crew.
“I still see her occasionally,” MacLachlan said of Davis. “Occasionally I see Chris [Noth]out and about. [Showrunner] Michael Patrick King and then we’re good friends with Darren Starr, who was the original creator of it. So, we stay in touch with a few of them.”
Until the future will decide whether the world will see Trey once again, keep reading to see more spook-tacular looks from Klum’s 2026 Halloween party…

“This is a blast from the past with Flintstones,” he told E!. “Original costume. I don’t think they know it’s gone, so don’t tell them.”
“I thought this fit the New York atmosphere,” he told E! News. “A little bit of Wall Street, a little bit of money and a little bit of heartbreak and some pain.”
“I did prosthetics, and I’m not a special effects makeup artist, so that definitely tacked on a little bit more time than I would normally need,” he told E!. “It’s one of my favorite movies from when I was a kid. It’s just a great way to combine glamor, camp, color and a lot of effort for Halloween.”
“I’ve been on tour with AC/DC for the past three years,” she told E!. “I’m Angus Young tonight.”
“These are his actual clothes, and these are his actual sunglasses as well,” she told E! News on the red carpet. “They’re prescription, so I’m looking at everybody a little fuzzy.”
