After Nicki Minaj recently took a ride on Air Force One, the White House Communications Director suggested that she could be the new White House press secretary following the firing of Katie Zacharia.
With the White House press secretary position currently vacant, the idea of noted Donald Trump fan Nicki Minaj taking on the mantle has been floated around. Minaj recently rode on Air Force One, solidifying her alignment with Trump and sat down for a meeting with White House Communications Director Steven Cheung, which he shared on X, formerly Twitter, showing a portion of their conversation.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary!”
The video was later reshared by Minaj, alongside an American flag and a grinning face emoji. It’s unclear if the White House is seriously considering her for such a role, but it’s clear that they’re not shying away from the publicity of her embrace of MAGA politics. The White House account on X also responded, sharing a post with the eyes emoji.

Trump advisor Alex Bruesewitz also shared a response. “Hey Barbz, what do we think about this idea??” he wrote.

During her time on Air Force One, Minaj also shared a video showing her on the plane.
On Sunday (Oct. 25) in Port Huron, Michigan, Trump was joined by Minaj at a rally ahead of the midterm elections.
When he spoke to his supporters, he revisited comments he made about Ohio Senate candidate Jon Husted’s appearance. “I looked at his [Husted’s] ass. I’ve never done that with a man before. Off the record, women, yes. Men, no,” Trump said, later shifting his attention to Minaj in the audience. “By the way, I’ve looked at one hell of a beautiful ass before. Nicki Minaj! That’s hard to miss! Stand up. That’s hard to miss.”
Earlier this month, Katie Zacharia was hired as the 37th White House press secretary, a title she held for just five days. She’s now the shortest-serving White House press secretary in history, getting fired after less than a week on the job. Her incredibly brief tenure in the role has since been compared to Anthony Scaramucci, who was the White House Communications Director during Trump’s first term for 11 days.
