The Project Runway star has said she spends months preparing her wardrobe for the event.
It’s Heidi-ween!
Project Runway star Heidi Klum is as closely associated with Oct. 31 as Mariah Carey is with Christmas. She spends the day counting down to her annual star-studded party, for which she unveils an elaborate costume that often leaves her unrecognizable.
In 2026, the spooky day was no different, as the star revealed herself to be a… giant severed hand, completely covered in blood and guts spewing from the chopped limb. The hand was also adorned with rings and a bewitching red finish on the nails.
Klum had teased to PEOPLE back in September that her look would be “very, very bloody” and something that “goes very well with red wine.” She also continued to tease the costume throughout Halloweek, including in several reels posted in the lead-up to her holiday bash on Oct. 31. The posts got to the point that fans began to express both excitement and impatience, with one writing, “It’s 10pm almost in the UK… I want to go to bed 😂😂😂.”
The model routinely spends months working with a team of professionals to create her memorable looks, including everything from Jessica Rabbit to E.T. to a werewolf from Michael Jackson‘s “Thriller” to last year’s Medusa.

She’s earned the nickname the Queen of Halloween.
“I embrace that title!” Klum toldThe Hollywood Reporter in October 2018. “And I always want to live up to it, year after year.”
Klum noted then that her love for the holiday came from having grown up in Cologne, Germany, where they celebrate Karneval. There are costumes and sweets but no scares.
“When I moved to America, I immediately fell in love with Halloween and the spookiness of it,” she said. “All that was missing was a fantastic party. It felt like a real opportunity for me.”
She threw her first Halloween fete in 2000.

Klum quickly implemented a strict wardrobe requirement for attendees, including rapper and actor Ice-T, designer Marc Jacobs, model Gigi Hadid, comedian Eric Andre, and many more.
“The majority of guests were not super dressed” at the first of her annual bashes, Klum recalled. “So, after that, I implemented a ‘no costume-no entry’ rule. We quickly taught people that if you don’t come in a costume, you’re not getting in. The costumes get bigger and better every year. And that’s because guests know they won’t get in unless they bring it.”
