Mysteries, palace secrets and poison investigations are returning to Netflix with The Apothecary Diaries – The Compilation. The compilation will revisit the popular anime’s story through three instalments, giving viewers another chance to follow Maomao and her fascinating investigations within the imperial court.
The first instalment, covering the Rear Palace Arc, arrives on October 30. The story follows Maomao, a knowledgeable young apothecary whose fascination with medicine and poisons draws her into a series of perplexing cases after she begins working in the emperor’s palace.
Using her sharp observational skills and medical knowledge, Maomao investigates unusual incidents, suspicious illnesses and secrets hidden behind the palace walls. Her unconventional approach and curiosity often lead her towards answers that others fail to notice.
The compilation will continue with the Outer Court Arc on November 13, followed by the Court Arc on November 27. The staggered release will allow fans to revisit different stages of Maomao’s journey and the mysteries that unfold around her.
