Ramayana
Namit Malhotra’s much-awaited mythological epic Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, is gearing up for its theatrical release on November 5, 2026. However, the makers have ambitions that extend far beyond the big screen.
A newly released behind-the-scenes Vision Video has offered a glimpse into plans to develop a larger entertainment universe around the Indian epic, including a theme park, museum and immersive experiences.
The video, unveiled on JioHotstar, highlights the creative vision behind the project and its potential to connect with audiences across generations and countries. Rather than focusing solely on the film’s storyline, it explores how storytelling, technology and interactive spaces could bring the world of Ramayana closer to audiences worldwide.
Ramayana to go beyond theatres
One of the major highlights of the Vision Video is the proposal to create a theme park and museum inspired by the epic. These spaces are intended to celebrate India’s cultural heritage while allowing visitors to explore the characters, stories and values associated with Ramayana.
The initiative reflects Namit Malhotra’s ambition to build a lasting cultural legacy that introduces Indian mythology to younger generations through experiences beyond traditional cinema.
However, the makers have yet to announce the proposed locations, investment details or development timelines for these attractions.
Sharing the Vision Video across social media, the makers wrote, “A timeless epic. A limitless vision. Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana reimagines a legendary world for generations to come.”
Ranbir Kapoor, Yash lead the ambitious project
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.
The two-part epic is produced by Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The project combines large-scale visual effects with an international production team.
Ramayana release date and streaming plans
Ramayana: Part One is scheduled to release worldwide on November 5, 2026, while the second instalment is planned for Diwali 2027.
The film will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, including premium theatrical formats such as IMAX.
Following its exclusive theatrical window, the first instalment will also become available on JioHotstar through a separate pay-per-view offering.
With plans extending into physical attractions and digital experiences, the makers are positioning Ramayana as more than a two-film cinematic adaptation.
