A new Netflix series that’s keeping viewers up all night long is perfect for fans of Haunting of Hill House. Netflix‘s The Haunting of Hill House gripped TV fans around the world as a grounded supernatural horror in the devastating, deeply relatable weight of family trauma and grief.
According to Netflix, the series was the seventh most binge-watched global release during its premiere window and earned a 93% critic score and a 91% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, alongside high rankings on IMDb. Those who enjoyed the show are being told to try a new Netflix series that will get under their skin just as much as The Haunting of Hill House.
Craig, a TikTok creator from Surrey who talks about all things TV and film on his social media accounts said the show, Midnight Mass, would keep TV fans watching for hours.
Craig said: “If you’re looking for your next series to binge-watch this Halloween, this series on Netflix is a must-watch. It comes from Mike Flanagan, who you may know from The Haunting of Hill House, and if you want a horror that’s going to really get under your skin, you need to check this one out.
“The must-watch series I’m talking about is called Midnight Mass. And if you loved The Haunting of Hill House, you’re going to absolutely love this one. And it follows a man called Riley Flynn, who returns to his isolated hometown after spending time in prison.
“But things start to change when a mysterious new priest, Father Paul, arrives in the community. And suddenly, people start experiencing what they believe to be miracles. The town’s faith has been reignited, and there’s a growing sense that something extraordinary is happening.
“But as these events become increasingly more disturbing, the town residents start to believe: are these miracles, or is there something much more sinister under the surface? What makes Midnight Mass so great to watch is it doesn’t rely on cheap jump scares to frighten you.
“Instead, it builds this incredibly unsettling atmosphere, slowly revealing its secrets until you’re so invested into what’s happening on that island. And like most Mike Flanagan projects, the performances in this are incredible, especially Hamish Linklater as Father Paul – he is brilliant.
“And the expert writing explores some genuinely fascinating themes like faith, guilt, addiction, and redemption. And when the horror kicks in, it gets absolutely terrifying. It’s dark, disturbing, emotional, and there are some things in this that will stay with you for a very long time.
“And the best part is, it’s a self-contained story of seven episodes, so it’s the perfect series to binge-watch this Halloween. So, if you loved The Haunting of Hill House and you haven’t seen Midnight Mass, get yourself on this series because it is a must-watch.”
