Sunita Ahuja has opened up about her strained relationship with actor Govinda, saying she will never ask their children to distance themselves from their father despite the emotional pain she has experienced.
In an emotional account of her personal life, Sunita Ahuja said she would continue to speak the truth, leave matters in God’s hands and focus on her own work rather than get caught up in controversies.
Sunita said she did not want her personal struggles to affect her children – Yash and Tina’s bond with their father Govinda.
Sunita made it clear that she would not tell her children to leave their father, regardless of the differences between the couple.
“I am not the kind of person who will tell the kids to leave their father. That is their response. I mean, it’s useless to say this because he is their father. He should also think about this. Why should only women think? Why should women live in depression? Why?” she had told IBNS at Tall Tales Kolkata.

Sunita and Govinda have two children, daughter Tina Ahuja and son Yashvardhan Ahuja.
Sunita also asserted that she was financially independent and would not allow her circumstances to dictate what she said publicly.
“Nobody’s father is feeding me. I am who I am. I will speak the truth,” she said.
‘He is getting happiness there, which I couldn’t give him in 40 years’
Sunita also spoke about the emotional distance in her relationship with Govinda, suggesting that he appeared to have found happiness elsewhere. She said she had accepted the situation and wished him well.
“He is getting happiness there, which I couldn’t give him in 40 years. Someone else must be giving it. That’s what I feel. God bless him. Let him be happy,” she said.
Sunita also said she did not want to get caught up in controversies at the cost of her professional life.
“In chakkaron mein padenge toh apna shakal bhi jayega and apna kaam bhi jayega,” she said.
Sunita said she was grateful for the affection she had received from the public
“I have got so much public love. Because I don’t think in today’s world anyone speaks the truth like me. The one who hurts a good person, God will see him. Let the world go to hell. We will work. This is enough for me,” she said.
Sunita ended her remarks on a lighter note, pointing out that she was still able to laugh despite the stress in her personal life.
“Look, I am such a good actress. There is so much tension in life. I am laughing, right?” she said.
Sunita Ajhuja and Govinda have had a strained relationship for over two years now and the two are also living separately. She has accused her husband of being in a relationship with a much younger actress Komal Rani Swarnkar, who is making her debut with the veteran actor.
