After all, the True Blood alum—who stars alongside Colman in the forthcoming film Wicker—stepped out at the movie’s Los Angeles premiere Oct. 20 wearing a shirt that featured a photo of The Crown star placed over his chest.
Indeed, the 50-year-old rocked a black long sleeve top for the occasion, which he personalized with a photo of an in-character Colman, the image further emphasized by a border made of buttons and ribbons.
As for the rest of his ensemble, the Big Little Lies alum wove the overall look together with a multicolored kilt, a black belt, dress shoes and matching socks.
And it’s clear Colman was sufficiently shocked by the fashion-forward shoutout as the Oscar winner—who for her part donned a purple maxi skirt and red button-down shirt for the outing—could be seen pointing at the image and laughing as she and Skarsgård posed for photos on the red carpet.
But this wouldn’t be the first time the Succession actor’s fashion choices have moved the needle as of late.

Yes, Oliere’s What They Think
In fact, he recently raised eyebrows after opting for a pair of clear plastic shoes by Saint Laurent at the BFI London Film Festival screening Wicker Oct. 8, a nod to the film’s erotic plot.
As Saint Laurent’s freelance design director of shoes Corrado De Biase explained in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily,“It was a joke between us to say, ‘I don’t understand why men are scared to show their feet,’ because there’s a lot of beautiful men that have beautiful feet and like to show it.”
“And that’s why those shoes are called ‘O. Fan,’ like OnlyFans, because everyone knows that’s the new obsession of gay communities, to show their feet on OnlyFans,” he continued. “So why not celebrate this?”
Wicker follows a solitary fisherwoman (Colman) who commissions the local basketmaker (Peter Dinklage) to weave her a husband (Skarsgård). The creation, however, knits nothing but upheaval in their quaint village once word gets out of his bedroom abilities.
And while Skarsgård had seen photos of his detailed Wicker get-up, which sees him transformed into the straw material head to toe, for nearly a year before cameras began to roll for the project, stepping into the costume is what finally allowed him to truly lean into life as a sexy basket case.
“It was amazing,” the Emmy winner told E! News in an interview published Oct. 15, “and it also helped me find the character, because up until that point, the Wicker Husband had only kind of existed in my head.”
“But to put it on and to feel the weight of it, and to kind of see how that informed the way I move,” Skarsgård shared, “it was tremendously informative.”
Until Wicker opens in theaters Oct. 23, keep reading for more movies premiering soon…
