Fla. (WWSB) – A 5-year-old Manatee County kindergartner named Remy has a chance to become a character in a comic book
Remy is competing in the Stan Lee’s Super Kid Contest for the chance to become a character in a special comic book.
Remy said his favorite superhero right now is Iron Man.
Remy’s mother said Remy has a superpower of his own: making people feel loved and special.
“Definitely does well holding his own, and just seeing him out in his own space, I’m just, I’m so proud of the young little man that he’s growing up to be,” Remy’s mother said.

The contest is run by the Stan Lee Foundation, which was created to honor the legacy of Stan Lee by championing causes he held dear. The Foundation was formed by Stan Lee Universe LLC, the official home of Stan Lee’s name, image and likeness.
The Foundation promotes literacy and the narrative arts, with a focus on storytelling in forms including traditional literature and comic books and pop culture.
The Foundation is developing programs it will lead and operate, with an initial focus on early literacy, scholarships and mentorship for young writers. The Foundation also contributes to organizations including The Hero Initiative, which provides emergency financial support to veteran comic book creators facing medical or economic hardship, as well as the Comic-Con Museum and the Museum of Pop Culture.
The final day to vote is Oct. 22 at 10 p.m.
