Although no official PlayStation 5PC port has been released so far, the incredible progress of the KyTyPS5 emulator is making it possible to play games like the Demon’s Souls remake by Bluepoint Games and Astro Bot on PC. Today, the emulator hit another important milestone, as it can now run Gran Turismo 7 with no visible graphical glitches, suggesting it will soon hit fully playable status, only a few days after an unofficial Gran Turismo Sport PC port made its way online.
A new video shared a few hours ago on YouTube by Unreal Gaming PC shows the PlayStation 5 version of the latest entry in the racing game series by Polyphony Digital running on a system powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, and 64 GB RAM using the usa-ratt d5bb89e build of the emulator. What’s extremely impressive is that the game doesn’t have any visible graphical glitches, and this is the first time we’ve seen the game run on the emulator. This is extremely rare, as the first time any emulated game runs on an emulator, it is filled with glitches that need to be ironed out.
While there are no visible graphical glitches, Gran Turismo 7 isn’t exactly playable on PC20 FPS, there’s still some work to be done to bring performance to the level required to enjoy the game. Still, considering how games like the aforementioned Demon’s Souls remake went from booting to running at 60 FPS and above on the emulator, it will likely not take much longer for the racing game to reach the required performance
Aside from Gran Turismo 7, as Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to become the game to emulate on PC ahead of its official release, we should expect the KyTyPS5 emulator to continue making fast progress in the coming weeks. The high chances of Rockstar Games’ title becoming playable on PC ahead of its release are likely the reason why it could make its debut on the platform as early asthe first quarter of 2027.
