Zee Entertainment appoints Vipul Bandekar as Director of Marketing for Z Sports

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited has appointed Vipul Bandekar as Director of Marketing for Z Sports. Bandekar announced his new role in a LinkedIn post, marking a move after more than a decade in sports marketing across Star India, Disney Star and JioStar.

Bandekar joins Zee after serving as Assistant Vice President for Brand Strategy and Integrated Marketing at JioStar from August 2021 to December 2025. During his tenure, he worked on marketing strategies for major sporting properties, including the Indian Premier League (IPL), ICC tournaments, Pro Kabaddi League, Women’s Premier League (WPL) and Indian Super League (ISL).

His work at JioStar included audience strategy, integrated campaigns, fan engagement initiatives and brand partnerships. He also led marketing planning and media investments across the sports portfolio.

Before JioStar, Bandekar spent over seven years at Star TV Network, progressing through marketing roles at Star Sports. His experience includes campaigns for the IPL, Pro Kabaddi League and ISL, along with marketing initiatives for cricket tournaments and sports channel launches.

Earlier this year, Bandekar founded Gravitas Media, a brand and integrated marketing consultancy working across sectors including FMCG, alcoholic beverages, entertainment, real estate and direct-to-consumer businesses.

In his new role, Bandekar will lead marketing for Z Sports as the company looks to develop its sports portfolio, strengthen audience engagement and build connections between sporting properties, brands and fans.
