EA Sports is officially bringing back its beloved Fight Night boxing franchise after more than 15 years, ending a lengthy wait for fans hoping to see the series return.
On Tuesday, October 20, EA Sports announced the news through its official Fight Night X account, sharing an image of boxing gloves hanging above a ring with the message, “The Fight Is Never Over.”

“To everyone who stayed in our corner: Fight Night is coming back,” EA Sports wrote.
The announcement marks the first confirmed new installment since Fight Night Champion launched in March 2011 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
That game introduced a cinematic Champion Mode storyline alongside the franchise’s signature boxing gameplay, helping it maintain a following long after EA stopped releasing new installments.
While fans finally have confirmation that Fight Night is returning, three important questions remain unanswered.
When Will the New Fight Night Be Released?
EA Sports has not announced a release date or release window for the upcoming game.
The company also hasn’t revealed how far along development is, leaving fans without a clear indication of when they might get their hands on the next installment.
For now, the announcement confirms the franchise’s return, but a potential launch date remains unknown.
Will Fight Night Be Available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S?
Another unanswered question concerns which platforms will support the new game.
EA Sports has not confirmed whether Fight Night will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, or future-generation consoles.
The previous installment arrived during the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 era, meaning the franchise has missed multiple console generations.
Until EA shares additional details, the supported platforms remain unconfirmed.
Which Boxers Will Appear in the New Fight Night?
Perhaps the biggest question involves the fighter roster, particularly which current boxing stars could appear in the game.
Former undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney was among those reacting to the announcement, reposting EA Sports’ message on X with a fire emoji.
While Haney’s reaction suggests excitement about the franchise’s return, it does not confirm that he will appear in the upcoming game.
EA Sports has yet to reveal any fighters for the roster.
Meanwhile, fans wasted little time sharing their excitement, jokes, and concerns about the announcement.
One fan questioned whether Jake Paul could appear on the game’s cover, while another celebrated living long enough to see both Grand Theft Auto VI and a new Fight Night announced.
However, not everyone was immediately optimistic.
“Microtransactions ruined this game already & it’s not even out lol,” one fan joked.
Other fans brought up competing boxing game Undisputed, with some welcoming the possibility of another boxing game entering the market.
For now, EA Sports has answered the biggest question of all: Fight Night is officially coming back.
When it arrives, where fans can play it, and which boxers will step into the virtual ring remain to be seen.
