“Jon Stewart is a generational talent, and ‘The Daily Show’ continues to be one of the most influential franchises on television and a cornerstone of Comedy Central. We are excited to continue our partnership with Jon and his award-winning news team,” George Cheeks, co-chair and chief content officer for Skydance TV, said in a press release announcing the extension.

Stewart has had two stints as the “Daily Show” host.

He first hosted the show from 1999 to 2015, but left before the 2016 election year, saying,“This show doesn’t deserve an even slightly restless host, and neither do you.”

Stewart was succeeded by Trevor Noah, who left the show in 2022.

That left the serieswithout a full-time hostuntil Stewart agreedto return on a part-time basis in 2024.
