Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s campaign doesn’t have traditional Intel collectibles to find in each mission this time around, but three missions include special collectible notes you can find.
There are 64 collectible notes in total, but you only need 50 to unlock the Noteworthy trophy. We’ve compiled the locations of every note in the game, along with the keypad and safe codes you’ll need to access certain ones. Note: There’s no in-game way to track collectibles other than an “X out of Y” prompt that appears when you pick up collectibles outside the Stranded mission. Thankfully, you can use our handy checklists below to track which ones you’ve found so far.
Following Orders Notes and Contraband Locations
Following Orders is the third mission in Modern Warfare 4’s campaign. You control an unnamed North Korean soldier who goes house-to-house with Lieutenant Ko Jin-Hyuk to find a defector. Part of this involves finding contraband and four notes that serve as hints or interesting background lore.

MP3 Player
The first piece of contraband is the MP3 player, which can be found in the bathroom by heading left from the living room and opening the wall-mounted medicine cabinet.
Western Novel
From there, return to the living room and go through the sliding doors to your left, next to the television.
Open the top two cabinets to find the second piece of Contraband, a Western Novel.
Baekseolgi-Tteok Recipe
Then, go into the kitchen and, if you wish, speak to the civilian’s wife; you can convince her to move out of the way to access the backyard, but there’s nothing back there.
Open the first cabinet door on your left to find the first of four notes, Baekseolgi-Tteok Recipe. Note the numbers on the recipe note; you’ll need them shortly.
Rations
The cabinet above where you found the Baekseolgi-Tteok Recipe note contains the third contraband item, Rations.
Medicine and Note From Your Friend
Return to the living room and enter the sliding doors nearest the entrance. Go in and open the cabinet, and interact with the toolbox.
Using the hints in the recipe note, open the toolbox with code 214. Inside is the final contraband item, Medicine, along with note 2 of 4, Note From Your Friend.
A Note From Your Neighbor
After dealing with the first and second houses, you and Ko enter another house where you can find the last 2 notes.
Enter the double sliding doors to find two single doors and another set of sliding doors on the right. Go through the single door on the right and open the cabinet to find the third note, A Note From Your Neighbor.
Enter the next set of sliding doors and go into the room immediately on your right. Open the cabinet to find a Keyhanging on the right side.
Note From Mom
Go into the kitchen and find the trapdoor in front of the steaming tea kettle. Open the trapdoor and use the dialogue options to convince the hiding civilian to leave. If you let her hide, you’ll lose access to the 4th and final note. Tell her the traitor was found and it’s safe to come out. Once she does, climb into her crawlspace and turn around to find the final note for Following Orders, Note From Mom.
Stranded Notes Locations
Stranded is the 10th mission in Modern Warfare and where most of the game’s collectibles can be found. Since Stranded takes place in a sandbox, we’ve created a handy table with each collectible’s coordinates, exact locations, and required keypad codes (if needed) to help you track them down and check them off as you go.
There are vehicles scattered around the map, but you can fast travelto and from Base Camp, any of the three main objective sites, and any outpost you’ve cleared to make getting around much easier.
To get the Noteworthy achievement/trophy, you only need to read 50 different notes, including the ones from Following Orders and Escape, but we’ve included every note location from Stranded here.
Stranded has 58 notes scattered around the map. Many give hints that lead to other notes or yellow supply crates; some offer keypad code solutions, but most help build the world, provide backstory on Tap to Reveal, and paint a picture of life under the North Korean regime.
Stranded is the only mission where you can track how many notes you’ve found. To do so, open your backpack by pressing D-pad Down on the D-pad; here you can see the number at the top of the UI represented as “X/58”.

Supply Crates Weapon Inventory
You’ll find the Supply Crates Weapon Inventory note automatically when you open your third yellow crate, so its exact location changes based on your playthrough.
Supply Crates Equipment Inventory
You’ll automatically find the Supply Crates Equipment Inventory note when you open your fifth yellow crate, so it doesn’t have a fixed location either.

Using a vehicle from Logistics Station 10 (or elsewhere), travel to coordinates 667, 125 in the northeast corner of the map and look for a green shipping container next to a large tower and truck.
Interact with the South of Jamming Station Keypad on the front of the shipping container, which tells you the previously used codes were:

To solve the South of Jamming Station Keypad code, simply add 1 to the first digit, subtract 1 from the second, leave the zero, and add 2 to the fourth digit. The next code in the sequence is 8609. Inside, you’ll find a yellow supply crate.

On the right side of the big sign, look for a copper pipe that leads up the big concrete pillar, and climb the pipe until you reach the top.
From there, run and jump onto the copper pipe ahead, then climb to the top. Here, you’ll find the Big Sign Smuggling Note on the ledge.

In the northern section of the map, head to coordinates 634, 136 and look for a green shipping container that’s next to a large sign. Interact with the note on the container door to reveal the Big Sign Keypad Note, which also unlocks access to a yellow supply crate if you solve the keypad puzzle.
To solve the Big Sign Keypad Note puzzle and reveal the code, simply add a 4 in the last digit slot. The code for this shipping container is 1234.
Big Sign Patrol Note

Not far from the pillar of the big sign, just a few meters from the Big Sign Keypad note, you’ll find another note, the Big Sign Patrol Note, taped to the side of another shipping container.
Farm Field Hidden Bunker Note 1

When approaching the Farm Field Hidden Bunker that’s near the northeast section of the river, look for the keypad that’s at the entrance. On top of the keypad is the Farm Field Hidden Bunker Note.

After unlocking the Farm Field Hidden Bunker you’ll find the second Farm Field Hidden Bunker note on the desk inside, beside the radio

Island Hidden Bunker Note

Across the river in the southeast corner of the map, you’ll find a hidden island bunker near the base of a large cliff face. Enter the bunker, and you’ll find the Hidden Island Bunker Note on the wall next to the keypad.
The note says the keypad code is the total number of outposts along the river. These outposts will appear on your tacmap once you’ve cleared them.
After the total count, the Hidden Island Bunker code is 0008.
NW Bunker Note
- Map Coordinates: 615, 196
After opening the Hidden Island Bunker trapdoor above, drop down through the newly opened trapdoor.
Here, you will find several supplies, as well as the NW Bunker Note on the desk next to the radio. You’ll also find the 616, 168 supply crate, which contains the Tracking Device and Thermite.

Escape Notes and Dogtags Locations
Escape is the 13th main mission in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Nearing the end of the game, Tap to Reveal. There are just two notes to find in this mission, and one easy-to-miss unique collectible called Dogtags to get the Never Forgottenachievement/ trophy.
Confiscation Protocol Reminder

The first note can find very early on in the mission. After taking out the first guard, follow the hallway and enter the first door on your left to find the note Confiscation Protocol Reminder on the desk.
Updated Code
Eventually, you’ll reach a section of the Escape mission where an enemy soldier is inside an office with a large help window. Crouch and hide beneath the overhanging bench, and then wait for him to receive a call. After the call, he’ll rush out of the room.
When the coast is clear, enter the office and interact with the Updated Code note to reveal the new safe code is 8410.
Congratulations, that’s every note in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4! But there’s one more crucial collectible in this mission.
Dogtags
From the note above, continue through the mission until Tap to Reveal. Fight through the barracks and keep going until you getTap to Reveal. Immediately after leaving the barracks, look for an unlocked door on the right side of the hallway. Go in and open the safe using the code 8410to get the Dogtags, earning the Never Forgotten achievement/trophy.
