VisionQuest’s premiere hides a sneaky double introduction that Young Avengers fans won’t want to miss. The Disney+ show’s first two episodes plant the seeds for two fan-favorite heroes through clever callbacks and comic book nods.
List of all major easter eggs and references in VisionQuest Episodes 1 and 2
Edinburgh Pub Connection
VisionQuest opens with Vision working at a pub in Edinburgh, the same city where he and Wanda lived together in Avengers: Infinity War before Thanos’ forces found them.
Wanda’s Tragic End
Vision tells his pub landlady that Wanda was “crushed under the weight of a mountain,” referencing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where she destroyed Mount Wundagore.
The Stark A.I. Lineup
Vision’s Mind Place features F.R.I.D.A.Y., DUM-E., U., E.D.I.T.H., and Ultron. James D’Arcy reprises his Agent Carter role as Jarvis, the A.I. originally voiced by Bettany.
Thanos’ Infamous Chin
Vision jokes about Thanos’ chin resembling a scrotum, a long-running fan observation that even actor Josh Brolin has acknowledged publicly.
Hidden Kitchen Brand Names
Vision’s retro-futuristic home contains branded kitchen products like InfinaDairy (nodding to Infinity War) and Vibranium Foil (referencing the rare Marvel metal).
Vision’s Memory Posters
Vision walks past movie posters titled “Birth,” “Love,” “Death,” “Re-vision,” and “Coming Soon,” each depicting key moments from his MCU journey.
Sherwood Ellis Identity
Vision’s pub locker reads “Sherwood Ellis,” a name combining two streets from Westview, where Wanda built her alternate reality in WandaVision.
Speed’s Comic Book Nod
Tommy Shepherd’s friend Lisa Molinari remarks on his unusual quickness, hinting at his comic book alter ego, Speed, a member of the Young Avengers.
Lisa Molinari’s Comic Origins
Lisa is also a Marvel Comics character known as Coat of Arms. She shares a long history with Speed in the Young Avengers storylines.
Tommy’s Lightning Backstory
Tommy describes feeling struck by lightning and receiving someone else’s memories, connecting directly to Billy’s actions during Agatha All Along.
Madripoor Headline Cameo
A news headline mentioning Madripoor appears during Paladin’s backstory. The fictional island featured prominently in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Deadpool & Wolverine.
Jim Hammond, the First Android
A painting of a burning man hangs in Vision’s Mind Place, depicting Jim Hammond, Marvel’s original Human Torch and the first artificial being, previously glimpsed in Captain America: The First Avenger.
