‘Bridgerton’ universe expanding with spin-off about young Lady Violet

Esteemed members of the ton: It’s officially happening.

‘Bridgerton,’ the Regency-era romance televion series has announced another spin-off for its gentle viewers.

The new limited series will follow the blooming romance between young Violet and Viscount Edmund Bridgerton, who becomes her husband and the beloved parents of the popular Bridgerton eight children.

According to Netflix, Shonda Rhimes, Bridgerton’s executive producer will co-write, showrun, and serve as the execuitive producer for the romantic drama alongside Nicholas Nardini.

This new series will serve as the second spin-off in the Bridgerton universe with the first being Emmy winning Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story that was also produced by Rhimes.

Fans of the Bridgerton franchise can rewatch all four season on Netflix before the season 5 premiere slated for 2027.

When does ‘Bridgerton’ season 5 return to Netflix?

Season 5 of Bridgerton is currently filming. The next season of the flagship drama will follow Violet’s introverted third daughter Francesca (Hannah Dodd) in her second chance romance as a widow with bold heiress Michaela Masali Baduza, her late-husband cousin.
