The story centres on Hizashi, a first-year student at an elite high school. After making a mistake, he is sent to remedial lessons, where he meets Rei, a girl who appears to fit his idea of a perfect classmate. Rei is popular at school, performs as an idol and keeps another side of her life hidden. Hizashi eventually discovers her secret, bringing the two closer as they spend time together after school.
The anime is based on Kashiko Amane’s manga of the same name, which began serialisation in 2022. Hakusensha publishes the manga in Japan, while Yen Press handles its English release. The series had nine collected volumes published by July 2026.
The anime’s announced staff includes Fumihiko Shimo on series composition and scripts, Kibidango 14-gō on character designs, and Satoru Kōsaki and Monaca on music. The series is scheduled for April 2027, although a specific premiere date has not been announced.
