With 2027 on the horizon, several major Dhallywood films have already been announced, with a number of star-led productions being prepared particularly for Eid releases. However, most of the projects are still at the announcement or early production stage, while only a handful have tentative release dates. Their eventual release schedules may change depending on production, censorship clearance, theatre availability and the timing of Eid.

Director Himel Ashraf, known for “Priyotoma” and “Rajkumar”, has announced his next film with Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan, titled “Mohabbat”. The first poster has already been unveiled.

The poster shows a man dressed in black alongside a woman in white. The man, wearing a long black coat, holds a firearm, while the woman’s red orna billows against her white outfit. Bullet casings and traces of blood are scattered across the poster, with part of a bloodstained car also visible. The imagery hints at a story combining romance, action and mystery.

Produced by Arshad Adnan, “Mohabbat” reunites Shakib with Himel and Arshad after more than two years. Their previous collaboration, “Priyotoma”, received a strong response from audiences.

Announcing the film and sharing its poster, Himel wrote, “Sometimes, love comes with a price; sometimes, it is a promise, and sometimes, a struggle. ‘Mohabbat’ marks the beginning of a new story and a new journey.”

“Mohabbat” is currently scheduled for release during Eid-ul-Azha next year.

Director Tanim Noor is also preparing a new film for 2027, titled “Mojnu Enterprise”.

The director of “Utshob” and “Bonolota Express” recently shared a mysterious image on social media showing the door of a room bearing the words “Mojnu Enterprise”, with “Proprietor — Tanim Noor” written underneath. The accompanying phrase “Coming 2027” sparked curiosity among audiences.

Tanim said “Mojnu Enterprise” is being planned for a theatrical release next year. The story is currently being developed, while casting has yet to be finalised. Further details about the project have not been formally announced.

Alongside “Mojnu Enterprise”, Tanim is involved with another film, “Kanabhulo Paradox”, as a producer. Directed by Ayman Asib Shadhin and Susmoy Sarkar, the film stars Sariful Razz and Sabila Nur in the lead roles.

Meanwhile, Raihan Rafi’s “Andhar” is scheduled to hit theatres on March 26, 2027, coinciding with Independence Day. The film stars Siam Ahmed, Chanchal Chowdhury and Nazifa Tushi.

Another Shakib Khan-starrer, “Nissho”, is being planned for an Eid-ul-Fitr 2027 release. Directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, the film reunites the director and actor following “Borbaad”. The project is being developed as a story combining action, romance and revenge, with Kolkata actress Idhika Paul starring opposite Shakib.

Director Taneem Rahman Angshu has also announced “Limbo”, an ambitious space-based Bangladeshi film. Blending science fiction with cosmic romance, the film is expected to combine extensive visual effects with an emotionally driven story centred on human relationships. The project is being developed with a 2027 release in mind.

Arshad Adnan has also announced another film, “Naseeb”, for release during Eid-ul-Fitr next year.

With a slate ranging from star-driven Eid releases to science fiction and other new projects, 2027 could emerge as a significant year for Dhallywood. Whether these films and their different approaches to storytelling can draw audiences to theatres will ultimately be determined on the big screen.
