Fortnite has undergone a slew of changes to mark the start of the Fortnitemares event, and while there’s plenty of fright-focuysed content in store, there’s also some adorable editions.
Epic Games‘ latest Halloween event has brought the likes of Five Nights at Freddy’s, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Beetlejuice into Fortnite, alongside many more, but there’s also a new Sidekick referencing one of the biggest viral sensations of the year.
Jimothy Added as Free Fortnite Reward
Jimothy the raccoon, who has an unusually short, rounded shape, which is likely the result of a spinal deformity, took the internet by storm earlier this year, and he’s now available in Fortnite.
Sidekicks in Fortnite accompany players across various game modes, and while they can’t be visible to enemy players, you and your party can interact with them, and each Sidekick also has rewards to unlock.
Jimothy has now joined an illustrious cast of Sidekicks that includes the likes of Spongebob Squarepants, Spyro the dragon, and many more, and the best news is, you can obtain him for free.

The addition of the new Sidekick utilizes the Sprite feature that was introduced last season, with Jimothy provided as a reward upon the successful extraction of a Dumpster Dive Sprite, which was introduced at the start of Fortnitemares.
It’s not the only gaming world where Jimothy is set to grace, as it was revealed earlier this year that the lovable critter was also coming to World of Warcraft.
