Writer-director William Oldroyd will return alongside studio Fifth Season and producers including Jessica Chastain’s Freckle Films and Bill Dubuque’s Viva Maude.
Twist follows a flight attendant who leads a double life with two different husbands. A murder then shatters their carefully constructed worlds. The story unfolds through dual perspectives as buried secrets rise to the surface. Feeney’s book poses the question of whether anyone can truly know their spouse. Macmillan Publishers will release the novel in the U.S. in February 2027.
The adaptation reunites several key collaborators from His & Hers. Kristen Campo’s Campout Productions and Tessa Thompson’s Viva Maude have also joined the project. Oldroyd, Campo, Chastain, Dubuque, Thompson, Feeney, Kelly Carmichael, and Kishori Rajan will all serve as executive producers.
His & Hers proved a massive success for Netflix after premiering in January. The series starring Thompson and Jon Bernthal became the streamer’s most-watched show in the first half of 2026. It accumulated 104 million views globally through the end of June.
Noah Greenshner, EVP and Head of TV Creative for Fifth Season, praised the reunion. “Twist gives us the opportunity to reunite an extraordinary creative team around yet another brilliant, gripping thriller from Alice Feeney,” he said. Feeney expressed equal enthusiasm about the partnership. “Having had such a wonderful experience with His & Hers, it was a very easy decision to get the band back together for Twist,” she said. Feeney also has other projects in development, including adaptations of My Husband’s Wife and Beautiful Ugly.
