Side-B 2nd stage starts
The chapter starts with a focus on the Side-B program by JFA chairman Hirotoshi Buratsuta. The focus shifts to Nagi, who tells his partner that even though they cleared the first round, many players are still left. After clearing the first game, the bird cage, Buratsuta congratulates the winners and says they will progress to the second stage: the taboo game.
Players are prohibited from using their playstyles
Buratsuta explains the rules of the taboo game, saying players will divide into teams of six, then each team will draw to be sorted into a three-point tournament. He says the team that scores three points first wins. However, there was a catch. Every player is prohibited from using one of their playstyles. Ryosuke Kira is prohibited from shooting, one player cannot cross, and another cannot kick with their right foot.
Kenyu and Tsurugi subbed out
Nagi then reveals that, under the new rules, he can’t trap anyone. The scene then shifts to the match between England and Japan. Fox is addressing his players and announces that they will defeat Blue Lock in the 2nd half with his strategy. Japan decides to sub out Yukimiya Kenyu and Zantetsu Tsurugi. In their place, Chigiri and Kurona Ranze will play in the second half.
Ranze man-marks Knight
The second half kicks off with Ranze man-marking Teddy Knight. A flashback shows Ego discussing Blue Lock’s new strategy during halftime. Ego tells Ranze to follow Knight for the rest of his life. In his special training, he played tag with all kinds of dogs. It is further revealed that Ranze has been assigned to plan the counterattack. As Knight pushes forward and tries to cut in, Kiyora and Ranze attack him.
