For Uditi Singh, what once felt like a difficult breakup now looks very different in hindsight. The Bigg Boss 20 contestant has opened up about her relationship with actor Karan Wahi, saying their separation ultimately changed the direction of her life and career.
Speaking to fellow contestant Scoutt inside the Bigg Boss house, Uditi described the breakup as a “blessing in disguise”. She also recalled how the relationship became increasingly difficult during the Covid-19 lockdown, when the couple were living with their pet dog.

Uditi said the period after the breakup brought major changes to both her personal and professional life.
“After the breakup, it was really a blessing in disguise for me. Because my entire career, my entire life, everything changed,” she said.
While recalling the relationship, Uditi said things had become particularly strained during the lockdown. The couple had adopted a Golden Retriever named Noah, and taking care of the dog became another
According to Uditi, the stress of the pandemic, household responsibilities and differences in how they handled things added to the tension.
‘He was so dependent on age’, Uditi recalls
Uditi said she and Karan had different ways of handling cleaning and taking care of Noah. She also described her former partner as “dominant” and said his comments often left her feeling demotivated.
“And we took a pet together in the lockdown. So when we took Noah, the Golden Retriever, a lot of fights started over him. There was COVID too. So both of us had a lot of cleaning work. My way of cleaning was different. His way was different,” she recalled.
Uditi said Karan would sometimes tell her that she did not know how to do certain things or would not be able to handle Noah.
“He was so dependent on age, for him everything was like, ‘You won’t be able to do it. You don’t know this and that.’ ‘You won’t be able to handle Noah.’ So I was like, but my partner is very demotivating,” she said.
Looking back, Uditi described the relationship as a case of things simply not working at the time.
“That’s what happens. If you don’t get the stars aligned, then there is a fight over everything. And when you get them aligned, everything is good. So it was like that,” she added.
Uditi and Karan had discussed marriage
Uditi had previously spoken about Karan inside the Bigg Boss 20 house. The two were publicly known to be in a relationship around 2019 and 2020, and Karan had shared pictures with Uditi during that period.
The relationship was reportedly serious. Uditi had earlier told her fellow contestants that they had been together for around two-and-a-half years and had even discussed marriage.
She also revealed that her parents had reservations about the relationship. Their concerns included the age difference between the two and Karan being an actor.
From modelling to films
Uditi started her career as a model before moving into music videos and acting. Her music-video credits include ‘Suroor’, ‘Bewafai Nu Salaam’, ‘Yaadein Teriyan Meriyan’, ‘Yeh Dil Deewana’, ‘Aaoge Tum’ and ‘Karizma’.
She later made her film debut in Sujoy Ghosh’s Netflix thriller ‘Jaane Jaan’. In the film, Uditi played the younger version of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s character Maya.
She was subsequently seen in the 2025 comedy ‘Jassi Weds Jassi’.
