The incident occurred on April 18 near Melbourne Showgrounds as people were leaving the convention. According to the outlet, the car driven by Dau struck three people. One of those injured — a 20-year-old resident of the suburb of Keysborough — died.
Another 20-year-old man was taken to hospital with significant injuries to the lower part of his body. A third man was hospitalised for observation.

Dau appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Courtmine, negligently causing serious injury while driving, and failing to render assistance after an accident in which a person died
The court was told that victim impact statements would be submitted in the case. The next hearing in the County Court was scheduled for February. After the April incident, Supanova organisers held a minute of silence, while attendees left flowers at the scene.
