Michael Jordan’s near-unanimous status as the greatest player in NBA history has led to his memorabilia fetching hefty sums on the open market.
Fanatics Collect’s September Premier Auction resulted in yet another MJ collectible nearing seven figures as bidding closed. However, it didn’t quite reach the heights of previous cards featuring Jordan’s autograph and jersey patch.

After the 20% buyer’s premium was added, it sold for a whopping $810,000 on Friday, Sept. 25.
Coincidentally, a 2008 Exquisite Collection Emblems of Endorsements Michael Jordan Patch Auto sold for $810,000 as well in Fanatics Collect’s October 2025 Premier Auction.
While this amount would make most buyers’ wallets wither away, it was a tad surprising to see an Exquisite Collections card featuring Jordan not reach $1 million.
However it was still a whopping 66,041% increase in value since a collector purchased it for just $1,225 back in 2009
Exquisite Collections shook the realm of high-end card-collecting upon its debut in 2003-04 by introducing thick card stock, game-worn jersey patches, and on-card autographs.
This specific MJ card featured a swatch from his iconic Chicago Bulls black pinstripe jersey, along with a BGS-certified AUTO 10 for his autograph.
The card’s value not surpassing the seven-figure mark may be due to Beckett Grading Services certifying it at 7 and in near-mint condition.

The most expensive piece of Michael Jordan memorabilia ever sold at a public auction is the 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman Autographs 1/1 (Michael Jordan / Kobe Bryant).
It was sold at Heritage Auctions in August 2025, with an investment group including Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary purchasing the card.
They bought it for $12,932,000, making it the highest-selling sports card of all time, beating the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card, which sold for $12.3 million in August 2022.
Heritage’s director of sports auctions, Chris Ivy, told ESPN that this card was a “holy grail” for most collectors in the space.
“The pre-auction estimate was $6m-plus. So sometimes if a piece is unique like this, it’s really beneficial to let it have its day,” he added.
What Is the Most Expensive Solo Card Featuring Michael Jordan Ever Sold?
As for a card that solely featured Jordan, the costliest card ever purchased at auction is the 1997-98 Upper Deck #GJ13S Game Jersey Autograph #11/23 Michael Jordan PSA 6/Auto 9, which sold for $4,250,000.
A solo Michael Jordan Exquisite Collection card has yet to reach monetary heights such as this.
In fact, LeBron James holds the honor of having the most expensive solo Exquisite Collection card ever bought. The LeBron James 2003-04 Exquisite Collection Rookie Patch Autograph (Gold parallel /23) was sold for a whopping $5.2 million in August 2021.
There is hope, however, for MJ truthers, as the most recent Exquisite Collection card, fetching over $800,000, could indicate that the tide is beginning to turn.
Perhaps collectors in the high-end space are seeing a potential trend and are simply getting ahead of the curve when it comes to MJ memorabilia.
