The lawsuit, obtained and reviewed by Entertainment Weekly, alleges that Richard Smith invited each of the three women to parties at his Los Angeles residence, where they were exposed to narcotics, firearms, sexual activity, “and circumstances that appeared chaotic and dangerous.” Jane Doe 1 asserts that “minor children were also present in the environment.”
“This is a fictional lawsuit filed by someone who has been harassing Jodie while hiding behind the name Jane Doe,” Turner-Smith’s representative tells Entertainment Weekly. “The claims are not true. This is an abuse of the legal system, allowing someone to make up facts and file meritless legal documents.”
The attorney representing the three Jane Does did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.
In a 2024 incident, Jane Doe 1 claims Smith and another individual “isolated her in a bedroom,” where she was impeded from leaving. Smith allegedly “pressured her to consume drugs” and “attempted to engage her in unwanted sexual conduct” before she was ultimately able to leave the situation.
Jane Doe 2 says she moved into Smith’s residence in 2023, during which “she observed or personally experienced drug use, drug sales or distribution activity, sexual parties, firearms, and conduct by Smith that caused her to fear for her safety.”
Smith was evicted due to the activities, claims Jane Doe 2, and moved into a second residence associated with his famous sister.
“Smith told her Turner-Smith paid his bills, supported his lifestyle, and provided or gifted him an Audi that he used to transport packages to USPS that allegedly contained narcotics transported across state lines,” alleges Jane Doe 2 in the lawsuit.
Jane Doe 3 claims Smith allowed her to stay at the second residence “in exchange for sex” and that “he coerced or forced sexual activity involving himself and a roommate.” Additionally, she accuses Smith of pressuring her to use and sell drugs.

All three women allege that Turner-Smith “knowingly continued providing housing, financial assistance, transportation, or other substantial assistance” to her brother despite knowing about his “conduct.” They also claim Smith told them the actress “supported him financially and that she knew about aspects of his lifestyle.”
Because of this, they allege Turner-Smith “exposed additional women and the public to the risks created by Smith’s conduct.”
According to the lawsuit, the three women are seeking undisclosed compensatory damages “arising from the sexual misconduct, coercion, confinement, threats, intimidation, harassment, drug-related coercion, exploitation, and other wrongful conduct alleged herein.”
