When it comes to PC gaming, a solid mouse is a staple. Sure, you can use a controller, but for some games, you really want to get the best mouse possible. With that in mind, I’ve recently been using the Marvo Scorpion G964W Niro 60W mouse to see if it’s the best option available, or if you should let the cat get it instead. The box itself comes with the mouse, a wifi dongle and a USB-C cable.
When it comes to a mouse, there are a few things to look for: you want a device that moves smoothly across your chosen pad. On this front, the G964W performs as expected, with a smooth feel while moving it. The shape also fits in the hand without any uncomfortable edges that dig into your palm, so it’s comfortable no matter how you hold it. With that being said, the actual casing isn’t the best I’ve seen, and it feels a bit cheap at times.
In terms of buttons, you have the main two, plus the extra two on the left side of the mouse and the middle mouse button/scroll wheel. It’s a simple enough setup that you see on most gaming-focused mice nowadays. The main two buttons both offer some solid resistance, so you won’t be pressing them by accident. The two buttons on the side are much the same, although I will say that they do stick out quite noticeably, which might turn some off. Frankly, the button that I had the most challenge with was the middle button on the scroll wheel, which requires a fair amount of force to click, but thankfully that’s also the one that’s used the least. The manufacturer indicates that the Niro 60W is rated for 50 million clicks, and I can honestly believe that number.
In terms of a connection, you can either go with a wired USB-C connection, 2.4GHz wireless that requires the supplied dongle, or a 125Hz Bluetooth connection. One thing I really like is that the port for the cable sits at the front of the mouse, which makes it much easier to use when connected directly to the PC or laptop. I did find the Bluetooth connection could be a bit of a challenge at times, as my laptop didn’t always notice that the device was on, but the wireless connection worked without an issue.
Oftentimes, I find that manufacturers tend to try to reinvent the wheel when it comes to mice, especially those aimed at gamers. They add a thousand different buttons and features, all of which fall by the wayside or make the product look cheap. The Marvo Scorpion G964W Niro 60W mouse avoids this issue thanks to its simple design, which is great when combined with the stellar functionality on offer here. So, if you’re looking for a new gaming mouse, this is a solid option that won’t break the bank. That said, it’s bare-bones, so if you want features like faster speed or more buttons, the Marvo Scorpion G964W Niro 60W might not be for you.
