It’s that time of year again. And while Epic Games hasn’t revealed details just yet, from the official Fortnite account on X, we’ll be seeing the return of the annual Fortnitemares event next Thursday. In a cryptic post, Epic posted teaser art for the annual event, along with the equally-cryptic text, “Nitemares really do come true 🖤 10.1”.

The “10.1” would indicate that the event would start on October 1, but that’s about all that can be determined so far. As for the collaborations this year, that’s where things get interesting. Noted Fortnite leaker HYPEX posted earlier this week various speculations, as well as some confirmations as for collaborations. Among the most noted is a Five Nights at Freddy’s collaboration, which has been spotted in various datamining efforts.
Adding fuel to this is FNAF creator Scott Cawthonposting this cryptic image on X today.

HYPEX claims that Fortnite plans to drop a Lobby Hack Code within the next 7 days that will play a “glitchy jumpscare video”, which seems to be right up there with FNAF and Cawthon’s post from today.
Other rumored and highly-speculated collaborations include the Roblox game 99 Nights in the Forest (which is getting an adaptation produced by Sam Raimi), Curry Barker‘s Obsession, and tinybuild’s Hello Neighbour.
Again, nothing has been confirmed so far, despite the datamining. We’ll just have to see if Epic will drop an actual teaser trailer to feed the hype, and hopefully give fans more info.
