Rania Morris shares a cryptic message amid continued backlash from sections of the Off Campus fandom. The controversy stems from fans` interest in Belmont Cameli and Ella Bright`s on-screen romance.

The popularity of Off Campus has brought Belmont Cameli and Ella Bright plenty of attention, but the show’s fictional romance has also spilt into the actors’ real lives. Now, Cameli’s girlfriend, Raina Morris, appears to be addressing another wave of online criticism – this time with a brief Instagram message that has fans talking.
Raina Morris appears to respond to the backlash
Morris, 28, posted on Instagram on September 20 with the caption, “Everyone will be normal to me today,” which Us Weekly interpreted as an apparent response to the continuing attention surrounding her relationship with Cameli. The post comes after months of intense scrutiny from sections of the Off Campus fandom. Cameli plays Garrett Graham opposite Bright’s Hannah Wells in the Prime Video series, while Morris is his real-life girlfriend. The couple has reportedly been together since 2025.
When fictional romance crossed into real life
Much of the online speculation has centred on Cameli and Bright’s chemistry on screen. Some viewers began “shipping” the actors outside the series, despite Cameli’s relationship with Morris. Bright herself has pushed back on that idea. During an appearance on In Your Dreams With Owen Thiele, she described Cameli as “literally my brother” and called Morris her “angel on earth.”
The comments came as social-media users continued trying to interpret the actors’ interactions, including speculation surrounding Cameli’s Instagram activity. Fans have crossed into the family’s private space. The controversy became more serious in July, when Morris directly asked fans to stop contacting members of her family. “If you are a fan of my boyfriend: Yay! Please stop messaging my family members,” she wrote at the time
She later used humour to address the situation, posting an edited Community meme referencing racism and unwanted messages to relatives. Cosmopolitan reported that some of the online discussion surrounding Morris had also included racist comments. The situation prompted Prime Video to issue its own warning. The show’s official account said: “The Off Campus community is built on a shared love of storytelling and on respect for the real people who bring it to life.” It added that accounts involved in targeted harassment would be removed from following the show’s accounts.
Why the fandom debate keeps growing
The reaction reflects a wider issue in online fandoms: the boundary between fictional relationships and the private lives of actors can become blurred. A recent Yahoo Entertainment analysis noted that fans can treat on-screen romances as if they continue beyond the show, describing the Off Campus controversy as an example of “invasive shipping.” For Morris, the latest Instagram caption is brief and does not explicitly explain what prompted it. But after months of speculation and unwanted attention, the message appears to signal that she would rather see the conversation move in a calmer direction. For fans, the distinction remains simple: Garrett and Hannah belong to the fictional world of Off Campus. Belmont, Raina and Ella have lives beyond the screen, and those lives do not necessarily follow the script.
