Va. (WDBJ) – Rajasthani Caravan, a folk music ensemble presenting the Manganiyar musical traditions of Rajasthan, India, will be in Roanoke September 22-24 for a two-day residency at Jefferson Center
Katrina Ji, the ensemble’s Artistic Director, dancer and cultural educator, is available for interviews by phone or Zoom prior to her arrival, or in person while she is in town September 22-24.
The residency includes two events.
A free public Indian folk dance workshop led by Katrina Ji will take place Wednesday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m. in Fitzpatrick Hall. The workshop is open to all ages and skill levels, and no experience is necessary. Registration is free.
A ticketed performance is scheduled for Thursday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. in Shaftman Performance Hall.
Selected participants from the Wednesday workshop will be invited to join the ensemble on stage during the Thursday performance.
