Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has dismissed reports about his health and addressed concerns after a Bigg Boss 20 promo showed him appearing to be in pain and calling for a doctor which he was hosting on stage.

The dramatic promo quickly went viral, leaving his fans worried about the actor’s wellbeing.

Taking to his Instagram Story, Salman Khan then clarified that there was no health emergency and said the sequence shown in the promo was part of a larger situation involving contestant Qazi Touqeer.

Explaining the context behind the scene, Salman Khan wrote that his apparent pain was deliberate and was meant to make contestant Qazi understand why using one’s health for entertainment could worry others.

He is batting trigeminal nerualgia all of a sudden he faces extreme pain and drowsiness still never took it as an excuse. Instead worked hard for his upcoming movie, shut the trolls. ““Nothing is wrong with my health by the grace of God. It totally beats the purpose n looks like I am doing the same thing that kazi was doing in the house, the pain was only to show kazi that wat he did was wrong coz he used his health for entertainment specially when the 15 people in the house were not aware that he was acting and were getting worried for his health,” he wrote.

Salman Khan was upset with Qazi’s behaviour in the show and was referring to an earlier incident during which the contestant had reportedly acted as though he was unwell without informing the other housemates.

Salman Khan said his own act was intended to demonstrate how such behaviour could affect the people around him.

The actor also expressed disappointment over the way the promo was edited and also apologised on the team’s behalf.

He wrote that the presentation made it appear as though he was genuinely facing a health crisis.

“Sorry abt the way the promo was cut. Guess it’s the format that they use in promoting the shows. I apologise on their behalf (sic),” Salman ended his note.

The clarification came after viewers expressed concern on social media following the promo. In the footage, Salman was seen holding his chest, asking for water and eventually lying down on the ‘Bigg Boss’ stage.

    Salman Khan addresses trolling

During the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Salman also addressed trolling and criticism directed at celebrities over their age, appearance and weight.

Salman further spoke about the impact of online trolling and questioned the way celebrities are targeted on social media.

He said: “Why do you want to troll somebody ki woh pregnant hua?” (Why do you want to troll somebody because they became pregnant?).

Bigg Boss 20 streams on Jio Hotstar and airs on Colors TV daily.
