A new Oishinbo TV anime titled Shin Oishinbo has officially entered production. The announcement was made on September 19 during the ABEMA Anime Festival 2026 “Shin Ei Animation 50th Anniversary” Special Stage, where an ultra teaser promotional video was also unveiled.
Oishinbo is a gourmet manga written by Tetsu Kariya and illustrated by Akira Hanasaki. Through its distinctive cast of characters, including Shiro Yamaoka, Yuko Kurita, and Yamaoka’s father Yuzan Kaibara, the series has told stories about food centered on the pursuit of the “Ultimate” and the “Supreme.”

Shin Oishinbo Brings the Ultimate Food Anime Back
The new TV anime was announced with the tagline, “The original and the pinnacle. The ‘Ultimate’ food anime returns!” Details including the broadcast schedule, cast, and staff will be announced at a later date.
To commemorate the TV anime adaptation of Shin Oishinbo, a special YouTube exclusive video titled Oishinbo Introduction: A Collection of Classic Episodes will premiere on the official YouTube channel at 8 p.m. JST on September 25.
The official Oishinbo YouTube channel was launched in October 2020. It features digitally remastered episodes of the TV anime as well as special videos available exclusively on YouTube, and has surpassed 590,000 subscribers.
