Kenny Loggins is a married man!
The “Footloose” singer, 78, secretly married his longtime love, Lisa Hawkins, in an elopement in Hawaii. He revealed the happy news at a screening of his documentary, Kenny Loggins: Conviction of the Heart, at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on Thursday.
According to Entertainment Weekly’s sister site PEOPLE, during a Q&A at the screening, Loggins discussed editing the documentary and shared a special shoutout to Hawkins, saying, “I want to take a moment and acknowledge my wife, Lisa.”
The film also featured a personal photo of the couple after they eloped.
Loggins first revealed his relationship with Hawkins during an interview with AARP in 2023, sharing that they had been together for five years. He also admitted that 2020 allowed him to enjoy some downtime and “be in love.”
“Lisa and I were a fairly new couple,” he said of pandemic times. “We bought e-bikes and started tooling around town. I enjoyed not having to be anywhere at a certain time. For those of us who live with the clock as the dictator, it was nice to get off the clock, to be in love and be playful. She travels with me on the road. It’s much more relaxed than it used to be. I love it. I’m at a point where I’m not striving for a hit record. I’m just cruising.”
Conviction of the Heart, directed by Dori Berinstein, details the life and career of Loggins, from his time with duo Loggins and Messina in the 1970s to composing hit songs for Hollywood movie soundtracks.

The film also reflects on Loggins’ decision to step away from his intense touring schedule following his 2023 This Is It!tour to prioritize his relationship with his wife and family.
“It’s a good time to call it quits,” Loggins told AARP. “Lisa and I have been together five years. I want to put more time into that — and not lose that. And spend more time with my grandchildren. The road gets more difficult every year. I decided, let’s go out on top rather than wait until someone says, ‘Kenny, you should get out of the way.'”
Loggins shares three adult children with his first ex-wife, Eva Ein — Crosby, Cody, and Lou — and two with his second ex-wife, Julia Cooper
Loggins also discusses his trans son Lou’s journey in the documentary, telling PEOPLE, “It’s a heavy subject to sum up in one sentence… mostly just keep loving them and keep trusting them.”
“I had to check in with my daughter — who was then my daughter, is now my son — to make sure that they were okay with telling the story out loud and embracing that,” Loggins told The Canadian Pressearlier this year. “There’s been so much negativity, and so much fear spread around people who need to transition that I felt that the other side of the coin needed to be expressed, which was that it’s an expression of love for my [son], that to publicly accept his transition was an expression of love that I wanted to do for him.”

The “Danger Zone” singer continued, “There’s a quality to finding oneself that has to keep evolving day-to-day because we’re not holding still. And just as I watched Lou go through his unfolding, there’s another version of Lou that has yet to unfold. And I think that as I leave that persona behind, the Kenny Loggins persona, there’s a different version of myself unfolding.”
Loggins said the next stage of his life is focused on slowing down and spending “more time at home” with family.
“They will, whether on purpose or not, remind you that you’re not the king of the world,” he told the AARP in 2023 of his kids. “After all is said and done, fame is an empty bucket. It only lasts as long as you can capture the imagination of the populace. And then you’re gone.”
