Fortnite Override is in full swing and in our humble opinion, it’s been one of the best seasons for the battle royale so far.
We’ve had wave after wave of gaming legend skins, from Sonic the Hedgehog to Kingdom Hearts, and you’d be encouraged to grab them when you can because this might be your only chance…
Personally, I’ve been eyeing up the Mega-Man bundle recently. I’m very fond of the Mega Man X series, and after playing Mega Man: Dual Override at Gamescom, I’m in the mood for more of the blue bomber.
It’s a pricey set though, so I’ve been on the fence about whether it’s worth getting or not. Then it hit me. These are Capcom skins.
Capcom has had several collaborations with Fortnite over the years, but it’s notoriously bad at bringing them back to the Fortnite Item Shop. Ask any Resident Evilfan if they’ve got the Leon Kennedy skin, and they’ll probably look at you with tears in their eyes.
It’s only Street Fighter that tends to get a re-release, with this season being no exception since it’s all about gaming icons. Plus the live-action film is right around the corner.
So, if you want any or all of the currently offered Mega Man skins, you’re probably best off pulling the trigger now before they’re removed on September 20. If they’re like any of the other Capcom collab skins, you might never see them again.

Mega Man: Dual Override is a love-letter to the series and a must-play for old and new fans
While I’m here, and on the topic of Mega Man, his new 2027 platformer, Mega Man: Dual Override, is peak.
I spent around an hour with it at Gamescom, and it’s been fine-tuned for both retro and modern fans alike.
While the game has two playable characters (that we know of so far), Mega Man and Protoman, it also offers difficulty settings for those who prefer a classic experience or a slightly more hand-holdy one. That said, after the debacle surrounding Marvel’s Wolverine, I don’t think anyone’s likely to admit that they like games holding hands…
Custom Chips are a new toy you get to play with. These are gameplay modifiers that you’ll unlock as you go, and they were good fun to play around with.
I elected for a chip that automatically charged Mega Man’s blaster when it wasn’t being used, which was not only useful but also merciful on my thumb, as I didn’t have to keep the button held down anymore…
The other major selling point is Override mode. This is a strong, rechargeable power-up that pushes Mega Man to his limit to execute a powerful blast attack. It was especially useful as the finishing blow against bosses, but I loved how it left you momentarily weakened after use. If you somehow missed or simply used it too early your movement becomes sluggish, and your blaster becomes less effective.
Overall, it felt like a huge step-up in quality compared to Mega Man 11, which wasn’t even a bad game by any means. It had that quintessential Mega Man feel to it whilst giving the player some new bells and whistles to spice up the gameplay, and cater to your gameplay style.
If you end up skipping the Mega Man Fortnite skins this time around, I’d check back in with the Item Shop around the time Mega Man: Dual Override releases if I were you. If the skins do ever come back, that’s obviously going to be when and why.
