Epic Games is dropping another big update for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Override and the excitement among the community is at an all-time high. The v42.20 update drops today, and it is shaping up to be one of the most collab-heavy patches of the season.This is going to be a pretty significant update, and it is unlike the v42.10 patch in terms of how much officially confirmed collab content is landing in a single drop. Downtime for the v42.20 Fortnite update starts at 4 AM ET on September 17, 2026. Matchmaking will be disabled right before downtime, so please be sure to finish any ongoing matches or Sprite-hunting sessions before 3:30 AM ET. What is coming in the Fortnite v42.20 update?
The v42.20 update is headlined by two of the most anticipated gaming crossovers of the entire Override season arriving simultaneously. The Kingdom Hearts collaboration introduces Sora to the Fortnite island, complete with a Keyblade Pickaxe. Alongside Sora, Roxas, Kairi, and Riku are also expected to feature as part of the Kingdom Hearts collab across the Battle Pass and Item Shop.

The Cyberpunk Edgerunners crossover is also expected to land with v42.20, with the Lucy Outfit arriving. The Monowire item is also dropping alongside the collab, alongside a themed backpack.Beyond the major collabs, a new batch of Loot Hacks is expected to replace the current lineup, and additional Sprites will also be introduced as part of the v42.20 content rollout. With the Kingdom Hearts and Cyberpunk Edgerunners collaborations both landing, it is shaping up to be one of the single biggest Item Shop days of Chapter 7 Season 4 Override.
