The upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Nintendo Switch 2 will have VRR support when docked. That news comes from Nintendo – specifically the store page.
Just a few days ago, Nintendo Switch 2 received a major firmware update, which added support for variable refresh rate in TV mode. This can be used when the software and TV support the feature. When these conditions are met, video will be output at a refresh rate that matches the game’s processing.
You can see the store information below, which also mentions HDR support.
Nintendo didn’t actually mention anything about Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s docked VRR support when it had the information blowout during the series’ 40th Anniversary Direct last week. However, unless there’s a mistake on the store page, this will be one of the first titles on the system to offer this.
For those that missed the news, Nintendo Switch 2 moved up to version 23.0.0 last week. Aside from docked VRR support, it added transfers between consoles, some GameChat features, extras while making a Mii, and more. Catch up on everything new here.
Will you be playing Zelda: Ocarina of Time primarily docked or in handheld mode when it comes out in November? Let us know in the comments.
