Mark Millar thinks secretly returning to Marvel & writing Iron Man under a pseudonym would be “hilarious”
Millar, who famously penned DC hits like Superman: Red Son or Marvel staples like Old Man Logan, has considered submitting other books under a different name

Mark Millar’s name has been on some of the most well-known comics in the past couple of decades. Big Two items like The Ultimates and The Authority come to mind, but then his creator-owned stuff like Kingsman and Kick-Ass has also sold pretty darn well in the comic market. However, Millar has apparently considered doing his comics in a different way – by publishing new titles under a pseudonym.
The veteran comics writer explained as much during a recent interview he did with TASQ ART YouTube page. At one point in the discussion, Millar was asked about his creator-owned publishing imprint Side Hustle Comics – specifically, he was asked, whether there was a time Millar considered publishing a Side Hustle project using a different name?
“Honestly,” Millar began, “You spend your whole life building your reputation. It’s a huge advantage if you’ve done Civil War and you’ve done big movies and things like that. It gives you a slight advantage – well, a huge advantage over just starting from scratch, you know.”
“But you know what?” he continued, “That might be quite fun. I might do that in the next couple of years. Just make up a name and do an issue of Iron Man or something like that. Just for fun – just do one issue or something. That could be hilarious, actually. Yeah, I might do that.”
I don’t need to tell you, reader, that Millar is clearly speaking in the hypothetical here. This is in no way a guarantee that the Old Man Logan scribe will be returning to Marvel at any point. At the same time, we’ll be keeping an eye out for anyone called “Mill Markar” on an upcoming run of Iron Man.
