Don`t Be Shy trailer is finally out, giving a glimpse into Aarushi Bajaj`s character as she deals with a complicated mix of love, friendship and unexpected twists in the Alia Bhatt-backed film. Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, the young-age rom-com will premiere on Prime Video on September 25.

The official trailer of Prime Video’s upcoming film Don’t Be Shy was released by the makers on Friday, September 11, 2026. Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, the young-age romantic comedy is backed by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt under the Eternal Sunshine Productions banner. The film features Aarushi Bajaj, Ansh Duggal, Bianca Arora, Piyush Khati, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Neha Dhupia, Anurag Basu and Anju Alva Naik in key roles.
Don’t Be Shy trailer is finally out!
The 2-minute-32-second trailer of Don’t Be Shy introduces us to Aarushi Bajaj’s Shyamili ‘Shy’ Das, a college student who believes that her life is all planned out. But when things start taking an unexpected turn, she is compelled to navigate a complicated mix of love, friendship, and messy relationships. Tangled between her feelings for popular, wealthy college boy, Mayank and her estranged childhood buddy, Dhruv, Shy’s life gets messier when Tara suddenly enters the picture. Soon, she realises that her well-planned life may not go as expected.
While sharing the trailer with fans on social media, Alia called the film as being all about “first loves. best friends. heartbreaks. bad decisions. all the things that make growing up what it is.”
As Sreeti expressed, “Don’t Be Shy came from a place of missing the movies I watched growing up – movies I still return to when I want to feel safe, comforted, and entertained. This is my tribute to that time in our lives, when we’re on the brink of adulthood but still young in so many ways. It’s about that feeling of being reminded that, no matter how weird or wild life gets, we can always find our way back home to ourselves.”
While talking about her character, Aarushi said, “Playing a character so different from who I am was both challenging and exciting, and stepping into Shy’s shoes pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way. Playing the role of Shy also came with a sense of responsibility – I wanted to give her everything I had and do justice to her journey. I can’t wait for audiences to finally meet her and experience the world through her eyes.”
When is Don’t Be Shy streaming?
The film is co-produced by Grishma Shah, Vikesh Bhutani and Shujaat Saudagar, with Ankita Batra serving as the executive producer. The film’s music has been composed by Ram Sampath, while the dialogues are penned by Sehaj Kaur Maini and Sreeti Mukerji. The editing department has been handled by Deepika Kalra.
