An unexpected adventure game based on an acclaimed anime has been announced for the PS5. Developed by Gust and The Apothecary Diaries: The False Imperial Brother is a gorgeous adaptation of the anime, featuring a brand-new story by Hyuganatsu, the author behind the light novel series

The False Imperial Brother will be released sometime in early 2027. Check out the announcement trailer below:
“Craft herbal medicine and utilize cunning deduction to uncover the truths behind the Five Mysteries and Five Curses, two chains of strange phenomena and conspiracies causing chaos throughout the rear palace, pleasure district, and streets of the capital,” the plot reads. “Apothecary Maomao must use every ounce of her intelligence and knowledge to solve the mysteries and unveil the truth behind the False Imperial Brother.”
The False Imperial Brother’s PS Store page is now live. Its price has not been revealed, but players can wishlist the title.

The False Imperial Brother will also be available on the Nintendo Switch 1 & 2 and PC.
