This is the original 2017 model, not the OLED version, so the display and battery are a step behind newer revisions. Even so, it delivers the same core idea: you can take your games anywhere. Its 6.2-inch touchscreen is sharp enough for everyday play, and the system is small enough to toss into a bag without thinking.
Using the Switch feels simple. You might start a game on the TV, then pull it out of the dock and keep playing from the couch or in bed without thinking much about it. Set it on a table, and the kickstand lets you prop it up for a quick match with a friend using the Joy-Cons separately. Those controllers are part of what makes it work so well. They attach to the sides when you want a handheld, or you can use them on their own without buying extras right away. Motion controls add another layer for games that support them (though not every title uses them well). And, as for its battery life, it ranges from about 4.5 to 9 hours, depending on the game, so lighter titles last longer, while more demanding ones will drain it faster.

This is a refurbished unit with a Grade-A rating, so it should arrive close to brand new. Games aren’t included, and storage is modest unless you add a microSD card, so you will need to budget for those separately. The original Switch obviously doesn’t match the graphics or speed of the Switch 2, but the price is right, and you can still move between handheld, tabletop, and TV mode without changing setups, which makes it a practical choice for casual gaming, travel, or sharing quick sessions with friends.
