Bitget has partnered with UNICEF to launch an online financial literacy module for young learners as part of UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition curriculum.

The free, self-paced course is delivered through Agora, UNICEF’s learning platform. It combines lessons on core financial topics with an introduction to blockchain and is aimed mainly at younger users.

Materials include short video lessons, visual learning content and quizzes. Topics cover supply and demand, budgeting, credit, loans, interest rates and the basics of blockchain.

Learners who complete the programme receive a certificate. The module also includes a game-based element, Neon Paycheck, which places players in a fictional city where they make decisions about earning, spending, planning and avoiding scams.

The game is designed to introduce practical money choices before users move into the wider course content. The broader curriculum uses video game development and game-based learning to make technical and financial subjects more approachable.

Bitget worked with UNICEF on the blockchain sections of the module, contributing material intended to explain digital assets and blockchain in a practical and balanced way. Bitget Chief Executive Officer Gracy Chen also appears in parts of the course to guide learners through key concepts.

“Education has always been important to me. It is one of the reasons I continue teaching as an adjunct professor at HKUST,” said Gracy Chen, Chief Executive Officer, Bitget.

“I’ve seen how quickly young people learn when they’re given the right tools and opportunities. That’s why our work with UNICEF is about making those concepts accessible early so young people can build the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions as the system evolves,” Chen said.

The financial literacy course sits within a broader educational effort covering artificial intelligence and video game development for young people in emerging economies. UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition has reached more than 642,000 young people, parents and teachers across eight countries: Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco and South Africa.

The collaboration began earlier through UNICEF Luxembourg. It has focused on helping young people, especially girls, build digital and financial skills that may affect employment and participation in increasingly online economies.

Financial literacy education has expanded in recent years as digital payments, online investment products and crypto assets have become more visible to younger audiences. That shift has led schools, non-profits and financial firms to place greater emphasis on scam awareness, digital risk and the mechanics of newer financial systems.

For UNICEF, the project adds a financial education strand to a skills programme designed for audiences with less access to formal training in newer technologies. For Bitget, it aligns one of the largest crypto trading groups with an international children’s organisation in an area where education and commercial interests often draw scrutiny.

UNICEF Luxembourg said the programme is intended to help young people understand a fast-changing financial and digital environment. It described the module as part of a practical approach to preparing learners for choices they may face in the future.

“Young people are growing up in a rapidly changing financial and digital environment. Equipping them with the knowledge and skills to understand this environment can help them make informed decisions and better prepare for their futures. Through the Game Changers Coalition and our partnership with Bitget, we are helping make financial literacy education practical, accessible and engaging for young people,” said Sandra Visscher, Executive Director, UNICEF Luxembourg.

Bitget says it serves more than 125 million users and offers access to crypto tokens as well as tokenised versions of assets including stocks, exchange-traded funds, commodities, foreign exchange and precious metals. It has sought broader visibility beyond trading by linking its name to educational and public-facing initiatives.

The launch reflects a wider push by parts of the digital asset sector to present blockchain as a topic for general financial education rather than a niche subject for traders. It also shows how youth training programmes are adapting as financial services become more closely tied to digital platforms, online identities and new forms of value exchange.
