COLLECTIBLES SALES BOOMING AT GAMESTOP
In Profitable Quarter

Collectible sales took a big jump in GameStop’s profitable fiscal Q2 ended August 1, the company announced. The $356.3 million in sales in the category were up 57% over the $227.6 million in sales in Q2 2025, and accounted for 45.1% of sales, up from 23.4% of sales in the year ago quarter. The growth rate was down a bit from the blistering 65% growth in collectibles in GameStop’s fiscal Q1 (see “Collectibles Drive Record”).
GameStop has significantly retooled its stores to support its move into collectibles, particularly TCGs, including adding table space for events (see “Channel Check: GameStop”).
Overall sales were down 19% due to tough comps in video games, store closures, and the sale of the company’s French operations. But profitability was up: operating income more than doubled to $160.2 million, and net income was $298.7 million compared to $168.6 million in the same quarter last year.
GameStop was holding nearly $5 billion worth of eBay stock as of the end of the quarter; it continues to show interest in the company despite being rejected as an acquirer by eBay’s board (see “eBay Rejects”).
