Shane Gillis just locked in another round of laughs at Netflix, and the numbers prove why the streamer had no choice. The comedian’s hit workplace comedy scored a Season 4 renewal weeks after its latest season hit a career-high milestone.
Shane Gillis’ Tires gets renewed for Season 4
Netflix renewed Tires for a fourth season, Variety exclusively reported on August 31. The streaming giant picked up the Shane Gillis workplace comedy just weeks after its third season debuted on the platform.
Notably, Gillis, John McKeever and Steve Gerben co-created Tires, which centers on the chaotic employees of auto repair chain Valley Forge. Gillis first posted a pilot episode to YouTube back in 2019. The three creators then independently financed and shot a six-episode debut season in Pennsylvania. Netflix eventually acquired the series for distribution in 2024 and later began funding new seasons.
Meanwhile, the freshly launched third season climbed to No. 5 on Netflix’s Top 10 English TV list. That represents the show’s best performance on the rankings to date. Overall, Tires has now accumulated over 45 million views across all three seasons since arriving on Netflix.
In response, Gillis offered a characteristically short reaction to the news. “It’s cool to get to make another season of ‘Tires,'” he said. McKeever, however, shared slightly more enthusiasm, stating, “I love this show and everyone who works on it. Excited to make more.”
Additionally, Tracey Pakosta, Netflix’s vice president of U.S. comedy, praised the series as well. “‘Tires’ continues to deliver the unapologetic comedy and authentic point of view Shane, John and Steve’s fans know and love, and Season 3 hitting its highest-ever Top 10 ranking proves this fandom just keeps growing,” Pakosta said.
The cast features Gillis, Gerben, Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox, Stavros Halkias and Thomas Haden Church. Notable guest appearances also span Andrew Schulz, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Billy Magnussen and Bobby Lee.
Beyond the renewal, Gillis and McKeever signed a broader creative deal with Netflix earlier this year. That partnership encompasses new series, films and two upcoming stand-up specials from Gillis. Furthermore, in July, Gillis shattered the Guinness World Record by selling 76,212 tickets to his solo comedy stadium show at Lincoln Financial Field.
