Will you be attending any diecast-focused events this autumn? The Indonesia Diecast Expo is up next in a few days, if you live in that part of the world or can travel there. I noticed some frictions between the organizers and the team at Inno Models, and it all seems like a big misunderstanding from where I’m at.

I won’t dive into any details, as I don’t have all the information right now. Instead, I just want to focus on the new premium diecast models you can start chasing after this month. I haven’t really been paying attention to Inno64 in recent months.

I unboxed one of the company’s RX-7 (FD3S) LB-Super Silhouette variations last year (the one with the Coca Cola Zero livery) and it was certainly impressive. I know one of my diecast dealers is a big fan of Inno, but it hasn’t had the same effect on me as Tarmac Works or Pop Race.

I guess I should continue exploring the topic, even though getting 10 of their collectibles could cost at least $300 where I’m at. It seems that they’re just a bit more expensive than the competition, and also not nearly as easy to find in my area.

Anyway, their new MadMac P1 GTR-X Drift Car looks like a world first to me. I wouldn’t say it’s the best drift car Mad Mike ever built, but it certainly got a lot of attention when it broke cover a few years ago.

    Pop Race

However, I refuse to mingle with the hordes of “enthusiasts” that paid ridiculous prices just to get his signature on as many diecast models as they can. I get a feeling the man is getting fed up with the circus too, although I don’t think he plans on stopping what he does anytime soon.

Anyway, I think we’ve had at least three variations of this casting before, which isn’t a sign that people won’t be desperate to get their hands on this one too. The Pandem E30 was previously available with a two-tone finish, and I’m quite curious to see how it stacks up against the Kaido House version.

I wouldn’t have known who Valentina Piaz was if I didn’t see some videos of her and Daigo Saito recently. I’m not really a fan of the livery on her GR Supra, and I get the feeling this might be the least desirable collectible of the trio.

    Mini GT

For Malaysia, the diecast manufacturer has a blue chrome variation which looks nice but isn’t an authentic replica of the real car. Let’s focus on the September pre-order for a minute though.

There are no Japanese vehicles in it this time, which is rather unusual. Well, at least there’s some JDM influence with the Lamborghini Huracan as it uses Kato-san bodykit.

The car looks amazing in Lime Metallic, and will be available both with LHD and RHD if that’s something you’re interested in. I think I may have an older variation from June on pre-order, and I should probably start keeping track of these for future reference.

It was previously available in blue as part of a James Bond collection, and the company made three different blister cards for it according to the markets it was headed for. The Land Rover Defender 110 seems to pay tribute to the 1998 Camel Trophy in Tierra del Fuego.

Mini GT has so many different Land Rover replicas that you could probably start an entire collection around them. Just make sure to have some sand at home for a realistic diorama. Moving on further west, the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz is only available in LHD.

It’s a brand new tooling for the manufacturer, and further makes me think it’s time for me to explore more of the cars built that decade. I don’t have that many tiny convertibles at home either. I know Hyundai has been capturing the imagination of many young people with the Ioniq 5N, and this RS-01T Stealth version is all the more desirable. I’d rather stick to a ‘90s Civic if we’re talking about hot hatchbacks.

    Tarmac Works

These are already available to purchase from Tarmac Works directly or from your local dealer. The two ones that have stirred up the most attention are the Koenigsegg One:1 and the Liberty Walk Mitsubishi Fuso.

You might remember that Mattel released its version of the latter in Team Transport in 2023. It was called the Flipsider Hauler and carried the LB-Silhouette WORKS GT Nissan 35GT-RR VER.2 around.

That set was notoriously hard to find at the time, and I ended up paying something like $50 for it recently. The truck was disappointing to say the least, and everyone who felt the same way has been drooling over the Tarmac Works version.

The two items I’m thinking about ordering are the Pagani Imola in Matt Silver and the RWB 964 Coca-Cola. The latter is part of the Hobby64 collection, which explains why it costs $10 more than the Pagani.

There are two other Porsches to consider here, including the 1/43rd scale 911 GT3 R and the 911 Carrera RS (964) that is co-developed with Schuco. If you must have more Hobby64 cars at home, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 and the Honda Civic TYPE R FK8 will add an extra $52 to your bill.

And all that before you’ve even had a chance to think of the pre-order. You will have to wait until March of 2027 to take delivery of these eight machines, or you could risk waiting until then to decide what you like most.

I’m not really a Mercedes fan, but I still want a closer look at Maro Engel’s SLS AMG GT3 from the 2013 Macau GT Cup. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 which Gotz, Juncadella and Ojeda drove at the Bathurst 12H 2024 feels a bit more special as Tarmac Works reportedly has exclusive production rights for it.

And then there’s the Porsche 911 GT3 R from the Suzuka 1000km event in 2025. I’d skip this one to try and get the Falken-themed release for the IDE show, although I’m aware going to the event would be my best chance of scoring one.

The Bentley Continental GT3 is also part of the pre-order, and I don’t think it can generate as many sales as either the Datsun Bluebird SSS or the LB-Kaido Works Nissan R32 Skyline. Did any of you get the Taxi version of the latter?

It doesn’t have any opening parts like the Hot Wheels RLC release, but it arguably has nicer details and costs a lot less. I’ve left an Initial D themed surprise in the photo gallery for you, and I’ll come back with more information about it soon!
