You know that meme? The man with the dog, surrounded by fire, saying “this is good” despite all the less than ideal things going on around him? This is a very popular little comic that has become an image of unprecedented reaction on the Internet. For most memes, that’s the end. But the comic originator of the meme is now teaming up with Numskull Games to create a game called That’s good: maximum coping capacitybased on the dog problem hound and his battles with various nasty creatures.

The news recently hit YouTube and social media, along with a short announcement video explaining that the game’s Kickstarter will go live later this month, on September 26th. Putting money in the game however. It does, however, provide some background information on the project, and reveal what kind of game it will actually be with an opening narration from comic creator KC Green.

“Hello! I’m KC Green, creator of the comic strip Gunshow, which spawned the meme “This is Fine,” featuring a dog wearing a hat named Question Hound. [denies] The fire around him,” Green wrote, “you may have seen.

“Now! Together with the good folks at Numskull Games, I’ve developed a classic, old-school platformer in which Question Hound reaches deep into our subconscious to fight the same monsters and demons we all encounter. Our brains QH has had enough of feeding on daily fear and anxiety, and so should you!

“Run, jump, and use your new skills to explore the troubled hound’s crowded mind and help him fight off those nasty things! Help him stay safe from the waves of depression! Illuminate his darkest fears! Maybe we can all learn something .

Numskull Games is a UK-based independent games publisher with a history of releasing a variety of fun, small games. Coffee Talk is one you may have heard of, although AI the Somnium Files is another popular product under its umbrella. Well worth checking out if you’re into platformers and/or meme culture.
