More than two years after “The Batman” hit theaters, the Penguin TV series finally has a release date.
We already know that Penguin will be released sometime in September this year, but an exact release date has yet to be confirmed. Thankfully, you don’t have to wait any longer to find out exactly when you can watch the spinoff, because during a panel about Penguins at San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that the show will premiere on September 19th. There’s still less than two months to go, so it’s not a particularly long time. Luckily, that wasn’t the only thing revealed during the panel, as The Batman director Matt Reeves was also in attendance, where he talked about the upcoming sequel.

First up, filming for Batman: Part II is set to begin next year, and Alfred himself, Andy Serkis, has previously said that Reeves said they needed to put Colin Farrell’s Penguin in “a specific place,” which apparently also hints that penguins will appear in the sequel. I guess we’ll start to understand what this place is when the show opens in September, but how it actually plays out in the Batman sequel we’ll have to wait until 2026 to find out, since the movie was delayed The whole year goes back to March.

Reeves also recently gave his Batman universe a name that’s separate from the new DCU continuity James Gunn is currently establishing (and alongside the upcoming animated series Bio-Strike). . Batman’s epic crime saga will apparently include movies and Penguins, but more TV series are also planned. What those plans are is a secret for now, but hey, Batman is awesome, so you can sign me up for more of what the team is preparing for.
