As we all know, Diablo 4’s first evolution after launch was in Season 4: Loot Reborn, which improved much of the game’s loot and item rotation. The next evolution will arrive with the Containers of Hate expansion and its aptly named Patch 2.0.
Blizzard hasn’t fully explained what impact Patch 2.0 will have on the game, but the developer recently confirmed what players have long suspected: major changes to the leveling curve are coming, possibly even in the form of a level cap squeeze.
Good news? We won’t have to wait long to find out what happens.

The next Campfire Chat developer livestream for Diablo 4 has been announced, and it will all be related to patch 2.0. This game-changing update will have its own Public Test Realm (PTR), marking the third time the game has hosted a test environment.
Blizzard remains tight-lipped about what to expect from the 2.0 PTR patch, but it will reveal all the secrets during a live stream. The performance is scheduled for Thursday, August 29 in normal times 11am PT, 2pm ET, 7pm BST time.
The show will be hosted by Community Lead Adam Fletcher and will feature lead live game designer Colin Finer, systems designer Aislyn Hall, game designer Charles Dunn and expert game designer Jeevun Sidhu.
In fact, this is also the Season 6 PTR. Season 6 will kick off with the release of Hateship on October 8th, which will be the next big moment for Diablo 4. You can watch it on the official Diablo channel on YouTube, Twitch and Twitter.
